The Bird Location

Posted: September 11, 2011 in Show Posters and Related Media

Take by myself in August of 2010.  The entrance was on Spring.  The Bird occupied the second floor of this building.  I believe the original club entrance was more down toward 1st Avenue per Neil Hubbard…help me, Neil, help me.

The Bird, Seattle’s first punk rock club, opened its doors at 107 Spring Street on March 4, 1978.  It closed on June 1, 1978.  A ruckus occurred.  Film at 11.

a pretty distinguished list here contributing to the Summer 1981 issue (otherwise known as the “F” issue)…especially since at the time Op was a tiny zine originating from Olympia’s Evergreen State College.

Seattle’s first punk rock event, held May 1, 1976 at the Oddfellows Hall.  Show was a benefit for the Telepathic Foundation.  This “Foundation”  did not exist.  I love Seattle.

Event to keep KZAM’s “Rock of the 80′s” punk/new wave show on the air (also had a zine of the same name for the same purpose.)
