Well, if you break it down to from “famous international bands”, and local bands, I’d say either Allan White of YES or Michael Shrieve of Santana. Locally hands down w/o a doubt would be John Hollis of The Squirrels & Manooghi Hi.
Sad how ill informed so many people are, I guess the fact that most of these people aren’t from Seattle and are simply choosing the drummers from bands they recognize makes sense, but to see Bill Rieflin with barely a vote or two is sad, same goes for Ben Ireland I’ve had the privilege to play many shows with Ben he can make a crap drum set sound great (One show he scoured the streets downtown and came back garbage lids and empty gas cans added them to the Bass drum, hi hat and snare he had and blew the everyone away !!! Oh one last thing were the F*ck is Charlie Ryan ??? The love child of Charlie Watts and Moe Tucker, A subtle King of the skins…
Charlie should have been on the list. No question. My bad for omitting him and Red Dress’ Bill Shaw. If it was up to me, I would go with Bill Rieflin, with Greg Gilmore a close second, and Matt Cameron a close third. They’re all great drummers.

Matt Chamberlain.
